Revealed: Easter and Ramadan travel habits of UAE travellers

With the religious calendars coinciding, Skyscanner has released data on UAE travel market trends

This year, Easter falls on Sunday 9 April and coincides with Ramadan, running from Thursday 23 March to Thursday 20 April, allowing UAE travellers more flexibility to plan trips around shortened Ramadan days and Easter holidays with loved ones.

"Travel is at the top of the agenda for Middle East travellers prioritising quality time abroad with family and friends," says Skyscanner travel expert Ayoub El Mamoun.

Data from Skyscanner showed that Monday 10 April 2023 is the most popular departure date for 74% of UAE travellers.

More than half of travellers from the UAE are actively searching for a trip of a week or less.

For travellers taking a short break, the Middle East offers many popular destinations, and most of them are less than a three-hour flight from the UAE, including Oman, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt.

On the survey, Skyscanner listed ‘Everywhere’ as an option for a upcoming holiday destination and it ranked in the top five destinations, indicating UAE travellers are remaining flexible and are keen to be inspired.
