Saudi Arabia announces instant e-visa options for tourists

The move is one of many made in the past year to enhance the visitor experience

Saudi Arabia has introduced instant e-visa options to simplify the process for individuals holding UK, US and Schengen visas.  

Permanent residents of the UK, the US and EU countries will also be able to obtain tourist e-visas on arrival in the kingdom.

Since opening its doors to tourism in 2019, Saudi Arabia has emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing tourism markets, attracting 93.5 million visitors in 2022.

This initiative is the latest strategy by the country to enhance accessibility and connectivity for those wishing to visit by employing digitisation to create streamlined entry pathways.

Last year, the Saudi Tourism Authority collaborated with the Pilgrim Experience Program to launch the Nusuk platform, the country’s first official integrated digital platform. Nusuk provides pilgrims and visitors with a platform on which to plan their journeys to Makkah, Madinah and other holy sites.
