Travel Village Group takes top sellers to Qatar on luxury fam trip

Agents earned their places by being top sellers in 2022

The UK's Travel Village Group has taken a group of its top Qatar sellers out to experience the destination for themselves on a luxury fam trip.

Group managing director John Warr and director Paula Nuttall accompanied the agents, who were Gillian Williams, Rebecca Hawker, Laura Featonby, Robert Lewis, Helen Turner and Wendy Haines.

The trip was supported by Gold Medal, Qatar Airways and Qatar Tourism, and the agents were joined by Leigh Lavery, Gold Medal’s trade partnership support manager; Charlotte Browning from Qatar Tourism; and Jane Hoyes of Qatar Airways.

The agents earned their place by being the top sellers in 2022 up to November.

After flying from Heathrow and Manchester, the agents checked in at the InterContinental Doha Beach for a three-night stay, followed by a stay at Hilton Salwa Beach Resort.

They visited other properties – the NED Hotel and Waldorf Astoria Lusail – as well as attractions such as the National Museum of Qatar, Museum of Islamic Art and the Souq Waqif.

The agents also had a guided tour of Lusail City, dinner in the sand dunes, and a visit to Desert Falls Water & Adventure Park.

Warr said: “As part of our company values we wanted to reward and recognise our top sellers. Our partnership with Gold Medal and Qatar Tourism enabled us to really offer them a once-in-a-lifetime much deserved luxury trip.

“The five days spent together completely changed their perception of Qatar and many said they would love to come back and would highly recommend it as winter break for their customers.”

Nuttall described Doha as “the best kept secret”, thanks to its food, hotels, restaurants, beaches, luxury, culture and “more importantly the people”.

“Doha is not just a stop gap to get to your next destination, it has all of the above in abundance. I cannot wait to go back,” she added.

Williams, who said the service was incredible and the dune safari truly magical, added: “I enjoyed seeing how diverse Qatar is, there is so much to do… and the souq is the place to be at night.”
