Tui Care Foundation launches Turkey earthquake appeal

The charity will match all donations to support work by Unicef

The Tui Care Foundation has launched an appeal to help relief work following the devastating earthquakes that hit southeastern Turkey and Syria earlier this month.

The foundation – part of the holiday giant Tui – has pledged to match every donation made to its new emergency relief fund appeal.

As part of the foundation’s partnership with Unicef, the fund will support the UN charity’s emergency relief efforts where help is needed most – and 100% of every donation will go directly to the emergency support.

Tui sends thousands of customers to Turkey every year, and its charitable foundation was set up to support the communities in which it operates.

The foundation said financial donations will be more effective than the collection of items, because funds can be directed quickly and easily to ensure that support reaches those in need as soon as possible.

Several other travel and hospitality companies have have set up events and appeals to support charities helping people in the affected areas of southern Turkey and northern Syria, including Airbnb, which is providing free, temporary housing, and Rikas Group, which is hosting a series of charity dinners in Dubai.
