Executive management restructured as carrier prepares for capacity growth
Turkish Airlines has confirmed the restructure of its executive management, appointing Murat Şeker (pictured left) as Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee and naming Ahmet Olmuştur (pictured right) as Chief Executive Officer.
Şeker steps into the chairman role after serving as Chief Financial Officer since 2016, while Olmuştur, previously Chief Commercial Officer, moves into the CEO position as part of an internal leadership transition.
In his previous role, Şeker oversaw the airline’s financial strategy, including treasury, procurement and investor relations, and has been a member of the Board and Executive Committee since 2021. He also sits on the boards of Turkish Technic and SunExpress and has chaired the International Air Transport Association Financial Advisory Council since 2025.

Olmuştur has spent more than two decades at Turkish Airlines, starting in a call centre role before moving through revenue management, pricing and distribution. He most recently led the airline’s commercial operations, overseeing sales, network performance and demand management.
The carrier reported a US$1.1 billion operating profit in the third quarter of 2025. The airline has also progressed plans to deepen its presence in Europe, including a minority investment in Spain-based carrier Air Europa, aimed at strengthening its position on transatlantic routes.
At its home hub, Istanbul Airport, Turkish Airlines is also investing in long-term infrastructure, including new cargo, maintenance and service facilities, as it prepares for further capacity growth and increased passenger volumes.
