Visiting chefs announced for MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants

Abu Dhabi is set to host Pia León, Will Goldfarb, Dave Pynt and Tim Raue 

The inaugural Middle East & North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants, hosted in Abu Dhabi in February 2022, has announced a line-up of consumer-focused events that will bring some of the most celebrated chefs from around the world to Abu Dhabi.

World’s Best Chefs
Food lovers will have the opportunity to hear from, learn from and taste dishes by Will Goldfarb, who holds the title of World’s Best Pastry Chef 2021, and Pia León of Central and Kjolle in Lima, Peru, recently named The World’s Best Female Chef 2021. Dinner by León is set to be hosted on a private island in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday 9 February 2022.

The stellar line-up of visiting chefs also includes Australian-born barbecue specialist Dave Pynt of Burnt Ends in Singapore (ranked number 34 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021 list) and the charismatic Tim Raue from Restaurant Tim Raue in Berlin, Germany (number 31 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021).

50 Best Chef Masterclasses
Budding cooks can take part in a series of ‘50 Best Chef Masterclasses’, set to take place on 4 February 2022, with acclaimed chefs such as Tim Raue, Will Goldfarb and Pia León, showcasing their skills and mastery while preparing signature dishes in front of a live audience. The interactive sessions will give ticket holders the opportunity to converse with the culinary stars and be inspired by their flavours and stories.

Four-hand Menus
Visiting chefs will team up with local talent to create a variety of four-hand lunches and dinners served at restaurants in Abu Dhabi. The dining series will take place from 4 to 8 February 2022 and feature chefs includingBurnt Ends’ barbecue master Dave Pynt, who will show off his talent for cooking over fire.

#50BestTalks
The inaugural live on-stage event #50BestTalks will be open to all. First established in 2014, #50BestTalks sees leading chefs and restaurateurs present and debate culinary topics and challenges. This edition will focus on how MENA can strengthen, present and promote its culinary identity while combining its heritage with innovation. Speakers will include key figures within the F&B industry from across the MENA region, as well as from the global gastronomic community. The event will include an interactive audience discussion and is set to take place on 5 February 2022.

The Middle East & North Africa 50 Best Restaurants 2022 will be announced on Monday 7 February. Full details of all consumer events, including prices, has not yet been announced.
