Zuma announces five-month pop-up restaurant in Doha

The temporary branch will open in November in time for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar

Renowned high-end Japanese dining concept Zuma will bring its award-winning contemporary cuisine to Doha’s Al Maha Island for a limited time pop-up during with the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Co-founded and created by Rainer Becker in London, the brand’s latest location will open its doors from November 2022 until March 2023 and will feature its signature sushi counter, robata grill, lounge and bar, in addition to a terrace and private dining room.

Guests will be able to enjoy the full selection of Zuma’s signature dishes, including spicy beef tenderloin with sesame; black cod marinated in miso; and grilled sea bass with chilli and ginger.

A DJ will enhance the venue's vibrant atmosphere, providing a lively and immersive experience throughout the venue’s four-month duration.

Operated in partnership with Aura Group, the opening of the location on Al Maha Island will further widen the range of dining options available to the influx of visitors expected in Qatar during and after the tournament.

Speaking about the launch, Zuma creator and co-founder Rainer Becker said: “We are extremely excited to be launching our pop-up in Doha to showcase Zuma in Qatar in the lead up to the FIFA World Cup 2022. Al Maha Island will be a hub of activity during this time and the culinary scene will be unrivalled, and we are very proud to be a part of the euphoria.”
