Qatar Airways to hire 10,000 employees ahead of FIFA World Cup

Additional staff will help the airline to handle the expected influx of passengers

Qatar Airways is looking to hire at least 10,000 staff as part of World Cup 2022 preparations. 

With this latest recruitment drive, the airline aims to grow its workforce to more than 55,000 employees from its current 45,000. Various recruitment events have been taking place across countries, including the Philippines and India.

During the tournament, 70% of Qatar Airways’ schedule will be adjusted to meet the requirements of the additional flights to Doha and facilitate the travel needs of fans arriving from abroad.

Other Gulf airlines will also increase flights to Qatar with most providing a match shuttle service. Qatar’s pre-existing airport, Doha International, will also be reopened during the event to provide additional capacity to its main airport in use today Hamad International.
