Israel's El Al airline to launch Tel Aviv-Melbourne flights next summer

The direct flights will operate three times a week

Israeli carrier El Al has announced that it will launch direct flights Tel Aviv-Melbourne flights.

The flights are set to begin from June 2024, with the intention to offer three flights per week, and 44,000 seats per year.

The letter of intent was signed by Ben Carroll, Minister for Industry and Innovation, and El Al CEO Dina Ben Tal Ganancia.

Commenting on the news, Carroll said: “We’re partnering with El Al, Israel’s national airline, to back direct flights between Melbourne and Tel Aviv to strengthen business connections and create jobs locally.

“More international flights to such an important trading partner will power our economy and boost our status as a key destination for tourism, trade and investment.”
