Passengers can earn and redeem miles for flights and hotels stays across networks
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, and TAP Air Portugal have launched a loyalty programme partnership that allows passengers to earn and redeem across both networks.
The move, which follows a codeshare agreement between the two airlines, lets Etihad Guest members earn miles to destinations such as Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro and Cancun, while TAP Miles & Go members earn miles exploring Etihad’s expanding network with new destinations such as Chiang Mai, Hong Kong and Medan.
Etihad Guest members can redeem miles for flights, hotel stays and holidays, while TAP Miles&Go member miles can be spent on flights and additional offers.

The strategic codeshare, established in 2023, unlocks connectivity for Etihad and TAP guests across North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and the Middle East.
The codeshare followed the start of Etihad’s non-stop services between Abu Dhabi and Lisbon and means Etihad and TAP customers can connect to each other’s network through Frankfurt and London Heathrow airports.
This is the second loyalty programme partnership announced by Etihad this month, following a joint venture with China Eastern Airlines to develop and grow routes between the UAE and China and align their loyalty programmes.
As well as benefiting from enhanced travel options between the UAE and major cities in China, passengers can earn points and redeem rewards when flying with either airline from 1 June 2025.
Etihad’s network expanded to 80 destinations in December 2024, increasing connectivity for its Abu Dhabi hub, with 16 new destinations unveiled in 2025 so far. The airline now has the largest network in East Asia for any non-Asian airline, with 269 weekly flights to 24 destinations.
