Hilton announces opening of Waldorf Astoria Lusail, Doha

The new Qatar resort features 429 rooms, suites and apartments

Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts has opened a new property in the Qatari capital.

Located in Lusail’s Entertainment City, The Waldorf Astoria Lusail, Doha is a 20-minute drive from the airport and 10 minutes from Doha’s central business district.

The hotel's restaurants include the first-ever beach club by Sushisamba, blending Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine. Other F&B venues include New York-founded Italian dining concept Scarpetta; contemporary brasserie concept ByWater; poolside venue Praia; wellness concept Wyld Erth, and The Highmore, inspired by an original members-only London club. In addition, Peacock Alley, Waldorf Astoria’s signature meeting place, will serve afternoon tea and speciality pastries.

Leisure facilities include three swimming pools, one for adults, one for families, and another for children; a dedicated FlowRider surf area and Aloha Surf Club. Guests also have access to a 200-metre stretch of private beach.

Speaking about the opening, the property’s GM Chris Franzen said: “Waldorf Astoria Lusail, Doha will be a coveted location for internationally acclaimed dining concepts, best-in-class facilities and bespoke service. The property is set to redefine luxury on the peninsula and will be a prestigious address in the heart of Lusail.”

Hilton recently opened a Waldorf Astoria in Kuwait. The the 200-key Waldorf Astoria Kuwait, is connected to The Avenues, Kuwait’s largest retail, entertainment, and lifestyle destination.

The hospitality group also announced the signing of an agreement with Star Hill Tanger SA to open the Waldorf Astoria Tanger. When it opens in 2025, it will be the first Waldorf Astoria brand to open in Morocco.
