Only public transport and authorised vehicles will be permitted
Dubai Airports has announced a change for arriving passengers and those waiting to collect them at the international airport’s Terminal 1, with private vehicles no longer granted access.
The change was made to reduce vehicle congestion caused by an increase in overall passenger traffic. Traffic at DXB has reached 96% of 2019 levels with passenger numbers exceeding 21.2 million in the first quarter of the year, according to passenger data revealed earlier this month.
Those heading to Terminal 1 to receive arriving passengers are advised to use the car parks or the valet service.
The changes came into effect on June 8 and there has been no timescale set for the length of their implementation.
Terminal 1 is served by two car parks – Car Park A’s charges start at AED 5 for five minutes going up to AED 125 per day while Car Park B rates start at AED 25 and go up to AED 85 per day.
Dubai Airport welcomed 66m passengers in 2022 and was named the world’s top airport for international passenger traffic for the ninth year running this year.
