The event is designed to promote sustainable agriculture in water-stressed regions
Qatar Airways has unveiled new livery to promote its hosting of the upcoming international horticultural event, Expo 2023 Doha, showcasing curated desert gardens featuring drought-resistant plants and sustainable agricultural practices designed for water-stressed regions.
Qatar Airways is the official strategic partner for Expo 2023 Doha, which will be held in Al Bidda Park, in the heart of Doha near Corniche Street, between West Bay and Doha Port, from 2 October 2023 to 28 March 2024.
Three million international visitors are expected to attend the event, which will offer a diverse array of experiences spanning talks, art and cuisine with a focus on how to combat desertification.
To further mark the occasion, from 11 October 2023, Qatar Airways will offer an exclusive in-flight à la carte menu spotlighting Qatari farm-sourced ingredients, along with Expo-themed in-flight entertainment.
As part of its contribution to Expo 2023, Qatar Airways has also created a 'Qatar Airways Garden' pavilion designed in the expo's theme of 'Green Desert, Better Environment'.
Qatar Airways Group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker said: “The arrival of the Expo 2023 Doha aircraft at Hamad International Airport symbolises our commitment to fostering a sustainable and innovative future as enshrined in Qatar’s national vision.”
Expo 2023 Doha secretary-general Mohammed Ali Al Khouri added: “Qatar Airways has consistently demonstrated its commitment to sustainability through its various global initiatives. As a testament to this commitment, we are honoured to take part in the unveiling of our Expo 2023 Doha livery.
