Qatar announces updated green list

Travellers can now visit a total of 21 countries without needing to quarantine in a hotel upon their return

Having opened its borders to fully vaccinated tourists last month, Qatar has now updated its green list.

Countries on Qatar’s green list now include: Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czechia, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden.

Unvaccinated travellers to these countries can quarantine at home for five days after arriving back from these destinations, while fully vaccinated travellers are exempt from quarantine. All travellers must provide a negative PCR test taken up to 72 hours before arrival.

The Ministry of Public Health has also updated its yellow and red list destinations. For the full list of countries on each list, click here. Unvaccinated travellers arriving from yellow list countries will need to quarantine in a hotel for seven days, while those coming from red list destinations must quarantine in a hotel for ten days. The cost of hotel quarantine will be at the traveller’s expense. Vaccinated travellers arriving from yellow and red list countries are exempt from quarantine requirements.

Six destinations, not featured on any of the colour-coded lists – Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka – have separate regulations due to a current surge in cases. Arrivals from these destinations must quarantine in a hotel for two days upon arrival, and will be released following a negative PCR test result on day two.
