The move further simplifies World Cup access
Qatar has scrapped the Hayya card requirement for GCC citizens and residents planning to watch the FIFA World Cup 2022 matches.
The cancellation of the requirement came into effect on 6 December 2022 with an announcement stating that citizens and residents of GCC countries will be allowed to enter the country by air, land or sea without a Hayya card or match tickets.
The Hayya card is a multiple entry permit that was previously required for all visitors attending the football matches in Qatar.
The card could be used by holders to gain access to stadiums, match tickets and free public transport.
