The country received a record 4.4 million passengers during the month
Qatar saw a 28% rise in air passengers in August 2023 compared to the same month in 2022.
The Air Transport Statistics for the month showed that the sector reached an all-time record of close to 4.4 million passengers during the month.
More than 2.5 million passengers were visiting Qatar as their final destination, rather than transiting via the popularhub, further contributing to the country’s ongoing tourism growth.
Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) stated that the country also saw a rise in flights of 22% compared to August last year. The country registered 22,909 flights in August 2023, while in August 2022, there were 18,782.
From 6 to 8 October, the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix is set to bring another influx of leisure travellers to the region.
