Saudi Tourism launches new winter tourism campaign

Destination flagged as one of the best places for women to travel alone

Saudi's national tourism brand, 'Saudi, Welcome to Arabia', has launched its follow-up to its ‘This Land is Calling’ campaign.

The latest instalment in the tourism entity's campaign, called ‘Where Winter Lights Up’, encourages global travellers to unearth Saudi's "legends and wonders" this winter season.

The campaign is an invitation to embark on a journey of discovery across Riyadh, Jeddah, AlUla and the Red Sea, with the seasonal event calendar running from October 2024 through the end of Q1 2025.

Repeatedly referenced as one of the best places to travel alone as a woman and an increasingly popular destination for those seeking authentic, immersive experiences, Saudi's expansive geography, diverse terrain, and human and natural wonders are the focus of the campaign.

Winter marks the return of flagship events across Saudi's event calendar, including Riyadh Season, a lineup of entertainment events in the Saudi capital.

The Boulevard Riyadh City and Boulevard World will feature a new 25,000-square-metre Harry Potter Experience, the first of its kind in Riyadh.

Riyadh Season's sporting fixtures include the boxing heavyweight world title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk on 21 December 2024 at Kingdom Arena.

In AlUla, visitors can enjoy the Ancient Kingdoms Festival from 8 December 2024 to 7 January 2025, celebrating the history and heritage of the region with immersive experiences that include live performances, art installations and culinary delights. The AlUla Wellness Festival  commences 18 January 2025, offering workshops, fitness classes and wellness retreats.

Saudi's Red Sea coastline is dotted with new luxury hotels including the St Regis Red Sea Resort and Nujuma, the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve in the Middle East.

In Jeddah in April 2025, sports fans can look forward to exciting events including the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, and the Spanish Football Cup and the Italian Football Cup, both taking place in January 2025.

This year's Riyadh Season features 14 zones across the city, each with different attractions. Riyadh Zoo, Suwaidi Park and Souq Al Awaleen are free to explore. For the other zones, tickets are required.
