Low-cost carrier to operate three flights a week from 1 August
Saudi Arabia’s budget airline Flynas is set to launch direct flights between Saudi capital Riyadh and Russian capital Moscow (pictured), in response to growing demand for travel between the two countries.
Moscow becomes the first Russian city in the Flynas network, bringing the airline’s total destinations to more than 70 across 30 countries.
The new route will operate three times a week — on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays — connecting Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport with Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport.
Russian visits to Saudi Arabia have surged in recent years, with more than 100,000 trips made in 2023 – almost double the previous year’s total – as the kingdom sets its sights on attracting 2 million Russian tourists annually by 2030.

Commenting on the new service, a Flynas spokesperson said: “Adding Moscow to our network is a testament to Flynas’ commitment to expanding our international footprint and connecting Saudi Arabia with key global markets.
“This new route will not only boost tourism and business travel but also foster greater cultural exchange between our nations.”
The launch is part of a broader network expansion for Flynas in 2025, which includes new routes to European and African cities including Milan, Geneva, Krakow, Rize and Casablanca, as well as increased frequencies to popular destinations such as Egypt’s North Coast.
Among recent additions, the airline launched three weekly flights between Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, bringing to 20 its total number of daily flights between Saudi and the UAE, more than any other airline.
Flynas plans to more than double its network to 165 destinations, contributing to the 250 international destinations the kingdom is looking to connect with by 2030.
Saudi’s aviation industry is flying high, posting a 15% hike in air passenger numbers in 2024, reaching 128 million, according to the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in its Air Traffic 2024 Report.
