Six Senses Rome to open this March

The brand’s first urban hotel in Italy will be located in the UNESCO-protected city centre

Six Senses Rome is set to open its doors in the historical Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini on 16 March 2023.

The occasion will also mark the completed renovation of the façade of the adjacent San Marcello al Corso Church, the first sustainability project sponsored by the hotel.

The hotel's 96 guest rooms and suites will feature subtly incorporated state-of-the-art, in-room technology along with the Sleep With Six Senses organic mattresses, cotton bedding and pillows to promote a good night's sleep.

Six Senses Rome general manager Francesca Tozzi commented: "After almost three decades away from my hometown, it's a joy to be back to lead such an incredible project. It makes my team and I feel very proud to open the first urban Six Senses property in Italy. We are working hard so our guests can experience memorable stays in an authentic, fun and quirky ambience."

The property features 96 rooms

With a selection of 12 accommodation categories, including three individually designed signature suites, options include secluded rooms with courtyard views and suites facing the bustling Via del Corso and neighbouring San Marcello al Corso Church.

True to the Eat With Six Senses ethos, menus foster a link with local culinary traditions and use seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers and suppliers. Besides the Roman Empire-inspired five-course tasting menu served at the Bivium Restaurant-Café-Bar, dishes include plant-based options with Sicilian touches. The hotel's second F&B outlet is Notos Rooftop.

The courtyard

Six Senses Spa Rome offers a 60-minute Roman bathing circuit, a modern-day take on the ancient ritual, reproducing the "calidarium, tepidarium and frigidarium" to reduce inflammation and boost muscle recovery by heating the body up and then cooling it down.
