The Hoxton to open in Barcelona

The lifestyle brand will make its Spanish debut this month

Hospitality developer and operator Ennismore has announced that The Hoxton will open its doors in Barcelona’s Bohemian neighbourhood of El Poblenou on 25 April .

The company hopes the property will appeal to both guests and locals, as it said it would “bring its renowned lobby culture, destination dining and community partnerships to Spain for the first time”.

The hotel will have 240 rooms; a rooftop and pool with views over Sagrada Famillia and featuring bar and taqueria Tope; and Four Corners, a ground-floor pizzeria and bodega. Three meeting and events spaces alongside the lobby make up The Apartment, along with La Cave, a multifunctional basement space that will host local cultural programming and community events.

The Hoxton, Poblenou is the brand’s 11th property, with others in cities including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, New York, Portland, Chicago and Downtown Los Angeles.

 Each hotel is curated to feature brand and retail partnerships unique to its destination, including hand-picked vintage furniture from local sellers, galleries showcasing independent, unsung emerging talents and community-focused social events.

The Barcelona hotel’s bedrooms have been designed to reflect their location with “terracotta floors, faded florals and a serene colour palette”.

The rooms are spread across five categories, including a new ‘Homey’ category designed for families and longer staying guests with functional kitchens and the option of two double beds.
