The Peninsula Istanbul to open in Q1...

The luxury brand will make its Turkish debut in February

Peninsula Hotels is set to open its first property in Istanbul on 14 February 2023. Located along the banks of the Bosphorus in the city’s redeveloped Galataport district, the hotel is located in near to museums, art galleries, restaurants, boutiques and a cruise ship port.

The hotel’s 177 rooms are spread across four separate buildings, three of which are protected historical landmarks dating to the early 1900s. Each has been renovated and restored in collaboration with The Heritage Board to ensure the design maintains its key historical elements.

Inspired by local surroundings, interiors feature artwork from renowned and up-and-coming Turkish artists. Turkish design elements such as wood and mother-of-pearl inlay, kilim-style carpets and Marmara marble-clad bathrooms, as well as multi-lingual touchscreen control panels can be found in rooms and suites.

Dining venues will include a rooftop restaurant and bar, and a signature restaurant offering Turk-Asian cuisine, plus a lobby restaurant serving afternoon tea.

There will also be a 1,675-square-metre spa and wellness centre with hammams, eight private treatment rooms and a 25-metre indoor swimming pool. Guests can also take a swim in the 25-metre outdoor swimming pool, and visit the on-site fitness centre or opt for the in-room wellness programmes via the ‘wellness portal’.
