Top international players take on Emirates’ street football challenge

AC Milan, Arsenal and Olympique Lyonnaise score at iconic Dubai sites for new Emirates campaign

Kicking off a new campaign, Emirates’ Airline capitalised on the popularity of viral social media challenges by featuring videos of football personalities conquering obstacles across Dubai.

Players were pitted against a tiny 86cm goal, with additional difficulties thrown in the mix, including tricky angles, uneven terrain and unusual locations. Some players were even blindfolded during their attempt.

The first segment saw Olympique Lyonnais’s squad, which included Alex Alexandre Lacazette, Corentin Tolisso, Anthony Lopes, Moussa Dembele, Houssem Aouar and Maxence Caqueret, trying to score against a backdrop of the Burj Khalifa.

Arsenal was taken to the Burj Al Arab to show off their fancy footwork on the beach while AC Milan players Pierre Kalulu, Ciprian Tatarusanu and Aster Vranckx were transported to the desert to show off their prowess.

This was just the latest in a series of innovative promotions launched by Emirates Airline, taking advantage of the fact that top-tier teams were in the city for warm weather training sessions and the Dubai Super Cup. The added bonus of a regional World Cup was yet another incentive.

The segments were broadcast across platforms, with TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Stories all being utilised simultaneously for maximum exposure.
