Multiple users will be able to plan group holidays more easily
Trip.com co-founder and chairman James Liang has shared details on AI-driven updates for the online travel agent's app.
Soon to be deployed features on TripGenie include multi-destination planning, itinerary-sharing and greater personalisation, including upvoting and liking options to enhance collaborative travel planning.
Trip.com's app-based AI travel assistant TripGenie crafts itineraries for the uninspired traveller, creating personalised editable itineraries in under a minute. Despite travellers' overall preference for personalised (human) customer service, since its launch earlier this year and subsequent July upgrade, TripGenie has doubled the order conversion rate and improved user retention rates, showing an increase in user engagement and overall service effectiveness.
The Group's AI ecosystem also includes its algorithmic AI-powered lists such as Trip Moments and Trip.Best all contained within the app. While the Trip Moments platform invites travellers to share their recommendations and reviews, creating a source of free user-generated content for the company, Trip.Best, an AI-curated list designed to inspire users to browse and book hotels, has boosted traffic by 20% and bookings by 10% for more than 1,500 hotel partners, according to the company.
Liang said: "Our AI expertise empowers the travel industry by transforming the way travellers plan and book their trips. With AI-tailored travel solutions like TripGenie, we enhance engagement, accuracy and personalisation in the travel experience. In this new era of travel, we are forging ahead to enrich travel experiences with AI and pursue the perfect trip for a better world."
