The cruise ship's maiden season itineraries will feature 82 ports in 26 countries

Explora Journeys has announced the opening of bookings for the inaugural itineraries of its second ship, Explora II, which will launch in summer 2024.

The vessel’s inaugural sailing will feature stops in the Middle East, India, the Indian Ocean, the Mediterranean and Africa, marking the first time the luxury lifestyle brand of MSC Group will sail in these regions.

Featuring 25 journeys and 14 extended journeys between August 2024 and the end of April 2025, the itineraries will include 82 different ports in 26 countries.

Commenting on the announcement, Explora Journeys chief executive officer Michael Ungerer said: “This is a new chapter for the brand and we are extremely proud to unveil EXPLORA II and these new itineraries.

Explora II will cross the Mediterranean Sea to call ports in Italy, Spain, Greece and its islands, Cyprus, Israel and Croatia. The ship will then pass through the Suez Canal to visit Egypt and Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea and then onto the Arabian Gulf for the UAE and Qatar.

On the last leg of the journey, Explora II will sail to India, Seychelles and the Maldives. From the Indian Ocean, the vessel will sail to Africa with calls in Mozambique, Tanzania, Madagascar, Kenya, Mauritius and South Africa.

Last month, Explora Journeys unveiled details of Explora I’s maiden voyage on 17 July 2023 departing from Southampton in the UK. The 15-night inaugural journey to Northern Europe will feature calls to 12 ports in four countries.
