The Dubai-based carrier is the first to connect Somalia directly with the UAE
Flydubai has announced the launch of a daily service to Mogadishu Aden Adde International Airport (MGQ) from 9 March 2023, making it the first carrier to connect Somalia directly with the UAE.
Speaking about the new route, Flydubai chief commercial officer Hamad Obaidalla said: “We continue to look for opportunities to grow our network in East Africa and open up underserved markets. This region has seen significant economic growth and development in recent years, our direct flights will further stimulate the economy and help create free flows of travel and trade.”

Flights will operate daily from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport. Flight FZ637 will depart DXB at 12:00 and arrive at MGQ at 15:30. The return leg on flight FZ638 will depart from MGQ at 16:30 and arrive at DXB at 22:25.
The carrier will double the frequency of flights from 1 June 2023, adding flight FZ609 which will depart DXB at 08:00 and arrive at MGQ at 11:20. Flight FZ610 will then depart MGQ at 12:20 before arriving at DXB at 18:10.
Return Business Class fares from DXB to MGQ start from US$3,267 and Economy Class Lite fares start from US$815. Return Business Class fares from MGQ to DXB start from US$3,500 and Economy Class Lite fares start from US$800.

This route will be operated by our fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, offering customers the comfort of our Business Class cabin or a more customised experience in Economy Class. The launch of the Mogadishu route will take the carrier’s network in Africa to 11 destinations, including Addis Ababa, Alexandria, Asmara, Dar es Salaam, Djibouti, Entebbe, Hargeisa, Khartoum, Juba and Zanzibar.
