Erth becomes the fourth Michelin-starred restaurant in the UAE capital
The 2024 edition of the Michelin Guide in Abu Dhabi has been unveiled.
All current star holders including 99 Sushi, Hakkasan and Talea by Antonio Guida retained their stars and the recently opened Erth also earned a star.
This marks the first Emirati restaurant in the world to be awarded a Michelin star. Last year, 99 Sushi, Hakkasan and Talea by Antonio Guida were awarded a star each.
Along with new additions Al Mrzab and Oii, all four restaurants, namely Almayass, Beirut Sur Mer, Otoro and Tazal retained their Bib Gourmand status.
Jaime Castañeda, chief executive, 99 SB Investment, said: “After a year of hard work, we are thrilled to share [99 Sushi’s] Michelin star 2024 with you, our extended 99 family of loyal guests, dedicated partners and passionate staff.”
The event was followed by a preview of the Middle East's first Michelin Food Festival, which begins on 8 December.
No restaurant in Abu Dhabi was awarded two stars, while neighbouring emirate Dubai has three restaurants in this category.
