Red Sea Global unveils own luxury hotel brand

The first Shebara hotel will open in summer 2024

Red Sea Global (RSG) has announced it will operate its own luxury hotel brand, called Shebara, at The Red Sea destination.

The first Shebara hotel will be located on Sheybarah Island in the Al Wajh Lagoon. Guests can arrive by a 45-minute boat ride from the mainland or a 20-minute flight by seaplane.

The 73-key resort will comprise striking stainless steel beach and overwater villas including three-and four-bedroom options. Facilities will include a family pool and an adults-only pool featuring a ‘lily pad’ seating terraces with panoramic views; two specialty restaurants, and a spa and fitness centre.

The RSG Group is currently recruiting Shebara's operational team ahead of opening.

RSG Group CEO John Pagano said: “It has long been our mission to extend our pioneering approach to regenerative tourism across a wider portfolio of brands and subsidiary companies, to create an ecosystem that will drive meaningful change in the global tourism industry.

"Shebara is a beacon for all that RSG stands for, showcasing the very best in Saudi hospitality while setting new standards in responsible development and sustainable operations.”

Last month, The Red Sea welcomed its first guests with two of its hotels open for bookings and the Red Sea International Airport has been receiving a regular schedule of flights since September 2023.

Upon completion in 2030, the destination will comprise 50 resorts, offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential properties across 22 islands and six inland sites.

Shebara joins a collection of internationally renowned hospitality brands operating at The Red Sea destination, including St Regis, Ritz Carlton Reserve and Six Senses, which will begin receiving guests this month. RSG is also developing Thuwal Private Retreat, an exclusive, island destination that will be wholly owned and operated by the group.
